Your family portraits can be captured either in or around your home, outdoors, at a location of your choice, or incorporating a favorite pastime, theme, sport or activity. Our style of family portraiture differs from traditional studio portraits because it is not posed or unnatural. This makes your family portraits very personal to you, and as time goes by, these portraits will actually increase in sentimental value.
Our goal with your portrait session is to capture you or your family in a natural and relaxed way, producing a series of stunning artistic photographs that tell the story of your life, beautifully displayed and ready to bring a room to life.
Our experience has shown that people are more comfortable in familiar surroundings and like having the ability to be in control when selecting a specific outfit or adding that extra personal touch.
What to Expect from Your Family Portrait Photographer
Prior to any photograph being taken, we spend about an hour with you to get to know you a little and to discuss what you hope to accomplish with your portrait session. We truly want to hear the story about you, your family, your style and personality so we can personalize your portrait session. We’ll go over your clothing selection and find out the general mood you want to convey in your senior portraits. We’ll also discuss and give careful consideration as to how your finished portraits will be displayed and how they fit into the overall theme of your home. We only focus on the things you need and will enjoy.
During the family portrait session, we do not shoot a large quantity of images only to hope a certain percentage to be of good enough quality. Once the exposure and lighting needs are established, we focus on details to make nearly each press of the shutter a quality image.
Please remember that since most your pictures will be taken outside, the weather can be a factor, especially here in the Pacific Northwest. If the weather does not cooperate on your special day, we will have no choice but to reschedule you for another time to give the best possible selection of images.
Once your family portraits have been edited (in approximately three weeks time), we get together for a personal viewing and print selection session. On average, this session lasts about ninety minutes.
All family portrait images that are purchased are retouched and professionally printed in all standard portrait sizes as well as square prints and wall portraits up to 30×40. Family portraits are also available in fine art canvas, metallic, fine art paper and more.
Your Investment
We offer several family portrait sessions based on the size of your family or the time needed to adequately provide a quality portrait session.
Standard Family Portrait Session (up to 6 people) – $350:
- up to a two hour session
- a $250 credit towards the purchase of prints (a la carte) or other products.
Extended Family Portrait Session (up to 12 people) – $500:
- up to a three hour session
- a $400 credit towards the purchase of prints (a la carte) or other products.
We also have additional options for larger family sessions such as reunions, anniversaries, etc. Please contact us for pricing information.
The amount of actual images taken during a portrait session will depend on your photo needs, number and age of people, lighting considerations, location changes and the number of clothing changes.
Each session package includes the planning session, the photographer’s creative energy, time for shooting, equipment, liability and equipment insurance, image editing, selection appointment, digital images for email or to post on your Facebook or MySpace page, and travel within 25 miles of Edgewood, Washington.
A $100 deposit is required to schedule the family portrait session with the remaining due on the day of the portrait session. All prints must be paid in full at the time of order. Shipping charges and Washington state sales tax are NOT included. Price does not include framing. Prices subject to change.

We provide Family Portraits throughout the greater Puget Sound area of Washington state, including Tacoma, Puyallup, Federal Way, Olympia and Seattle areas. Additional areas available upon request.
